SCHOLARSHIP PROCESS

We know pursuing higher educational goals presents many challenges. With this in mind, our generous donors have created over 140 different scholarship opportunities to support your academic journey.

Opportunities

The Springfield Foundation offers scholarships to the following:

  • graduating high school seniors
  • current college students
  • non-traditional students

The Springfield Foundation has two applications (please complete the appropriate application for your status):

  • 2024 Springfield Foundation Common Scholarship Application - Graduating high school seniors and current college students.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
  • 2024 Scholarship Application - Non-traditional Students. Non-traditional student is defined as a student who is 25 years old or older and has never attended college.  (If you are 25 years old or older and are currently attending college, please complete the Common Application).

Eligibility

High School Students:

  • Be a Clark County, Ohio resident or enrolled in a Clark County, Ohio high school.*
  • Be a high school senior with at least one completed grading period of the senior year.
  • Plan to enroll and complete a full-time program (12 or more hours) each semester in an accredited institution of higher learning or post-secondary program.

Current College Students:

  • Be a graduate of a Clark County high school, or a Clark County, Ohio permanent resident.*
  • Be currently enrolled as a full-time college student.
  • Plan to continue in a full-time program (12 or more hours) each semester in an accredited institution of higher learning or post-secondary program.

Non-Traditional Students:

  • Be a graduate of a Clark County high school, or a Clark County, Ohio permanent resident.*
  • Have received a high school diploma or completed the GED.
  • 25 years old or older and has never attended college.
  • Plan to enroll a program at an accredited institution of higher learning or post-secondary program.

*Some scholarships are available to non-Clark County residents.  

Eligibility requirements are largely determined by the donors who establish the various scholarships.

FAFSA UPDATE

An announcement from Federal Student Aid was made on January 30, 2024, and estimates that FAFSA Submission summaries will begin to be sent in March. Read the full announcement here: https://fsapartners.ed.gov/knowledge-center/library/electronic-announcements/2024-01-30/2024-25-fafsa-student-aid-index-update-and-timeline-updated-feb-6-2024

Due to this announcement, we are expanding our options of what documentation we will accept for financial confirmation.  Application deadline is March 15th, 2024.  The deadline to submit the FAFSA information is April 1st, 2024. 

1.      Provide the Student Aid Index Estimate that you received via email after you submitted your FAFSA application.

2.      Provide the FAFSA Submission Summary (The estimated FAFSA mailing date is the first half of March).

If you do not receive the above information, you can provide the first page of your family’s 2022 Federal Income tax return (1040) that shows the Adjusted Gross Income.  Please black out social security numbers as we do not need this information. Please do not upload to your application. (This documentation will be destroyed after review of information).
